Starke Yacht Care Single Sided Step 1 White Wool Heavy Cut Buffing Pad is a single-sided white wool heavy-cut buffing pad for Step 1 gelcoat and paint correction—hook-and-loop mount, plush durable fibers, and a washable backing for rotary compounding.
Available in 3" and 7.5" (WWPAD3 / WWPAD7.5). 7.5" size uses ~1.25" pile, 100% wool 4-ply twist for compounding/cutting on oxidized gelcoat before you refine with Step 2 yellow wool.

How to use
- Mount to a compatible rotary backing; prime with cutting compound
- Work a cool section at controlled speed until oxidation clears
- Clean or wash the pad; follow with Step 2 yellow wool polish pad as needed
Note: Aggressive cut pad—do not overwork thin gelcoat or edges. Keep pads clean to avoid swirl from loaded compound. Match pad diameter to your backing plate.

Absolutely. We will have a boat in the shop to work on. We typically focus on the hull sides. All the Starke products, pads and machines will be on display and available for use.
Will there be classroom work?
Yes. We like to sit down and go over some over the basics. We will have a presentation and slideshow. We start by introducing everyone. We like to ask why each person came and what they wanted to gain from this experience. Once we figure that out we can then dial in the message to focus on where everyone needs the most information.
