DeWalt DWP849X 7”/9” Variable Speed Rotary Polisher is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.

The DeWalt DWP849X 7”/9” Variable Speed Rotary Polisher is a lighter, more powerful polisher designed to restore auto paint with more control and comfort. The DeWalt DWP849X has a CFS Controlled Finishing System with soft start to ensure high finish quality. Use it for auto detailing and restoration, metal and concrete finishing.

Compared to the previous DeWalt 849 polisher, the DWP849X has improved ergonomics and control, a more powerful motor, and it's lighter. The variable speed dial delivers 0-600/0-3,500 RPM, giving users the power and speed necessary for difficult applications. The DWP849X weighs just 6.5 pounds, yet it houses a 12 amp motor (the DW849 contains an 8 amp motor).

The DWP849X includes the (CFS) Controlled Finishing System® with soft start to give users improved speed control and finish quality. In addition to the traditional straight side handle, the DWP849X comes with a three-position bale handle for multiple gripping options. It also offers an ergonomically sculpted rear handle with rubber overmold, as well as a non-marring rubber gear case cover which helps to reduce the chance of finish scuffs or scratches. The ergonomic two-finger trigger helps to reduce user fatigue by accommodating a range of finger positions for professionals using the tool over an extended period of time; all of these features provide improved comfort and speed control compared to traditional polishers.

The hook and loop backing pad, which is included with the DWP849X, allows for quick, tool-free accessory changes. Foam and wool pads with hook and loop fasteners can be used.  Wool ingestion shields covering the air intake. These shields help to eliminate wool and debris ingestion, increasing the life of the tool.

Like all DeWalts, the DWP849X is ruggedly built. All ball bearing construction and heat-treated, precision-cut steel gears ensure smooth operation and long life.

Use the DeWalt DWP849X 7”/9” Variable Speed Rotary Polisher for all your demanding compounding and polishing applications. Its rugged durability and controlled variable speeds enable precise operation and excellent results.

      FAQ

Will there be hands on demonstration?

Absolutely. We will have a boat in the shop to work on. We typically focus on the hull sides. All the Starke products, pads and machines will be on display and available for use.

      Will there be classroom work?

Yes. We like to sit down and go over some over the basics. We will have a presentation and slideshow. We start by introducing everyone. We like to ask why each person came and what they wanted to gain from this experience. Once we figure that out we can then dial in the message to focus on where everyone needs the most information.

      Is this an accreditation course?

Yes. Sign up for this course to become a Starke Certified Installer and be listed on our site and receive special discounts on Starke products.

If I am a DIYer, can I attend this course.

Absolutely. This class is for the professional or the enthusiast. The techniques we will be teaching work across the board.
